The Pittsburgh Maulers re-signed offensive lineman Xavier Dampeer on Thursday. Xavier Dampeer is six foot two and weighs 310 pounds.
The 29-year-old from Mendenhall, Mississippi, played five games at center, of which he started one game. Dampeer was part of an offensive line that helped the Pittsburgh quarterbacks complete 167 of 270 passes (61.9%) for 1,437 yards (143.7%), six touchdowns, six interceptions, and allowed 33 sacks.
In addition, the Maulers’ running game had 250 carries for 989 yards (98.9 AVG), and six touchdowns, and the receivers had 168 catches for 1,653 yards, six touchdowns. The Maulers appeared in the 2023 USFL Championship game but lost to the Birmingham Stallions 28-12.
The Maulers signed Dampeer as a free agent on May 6, 2022. Collegiately, Dampeer played two seasons at Copiah-Lincoln Community College (2012-13) playing 16 games for the Wolves.
In 2012, he was a defensive lineman with 13 tackles (10 solo, 3 assists) and half a tackle for loss in nine games. In 2013, he switched to offensive lineman playing seven games. He earned NJCAA all-region and all-state honors. Then, he transferred to Auburn University (2014-16) playing 12 games for the Tigers, of which four were starts.
