The Repco Supercars Championship concluded the weekend at The Bend Motorsport Park in Tailem Bend, South Australia, for Races 21 and 22 on Sunday. Qualifying was held on Sunday morning with Thomas Randle winning the pole for Race 21 and Brodie Kostecki for Race 22.
In Race 21, Kostecki beat Randle entering Turn 1 for the lead. Behind them, Jack Le Brocq went deep into Turn 6 and sent both Cam Waters and Will Davison for a spin. Le Brocq was handed a drive-through penalty for the incident.
Thomas Randle went to pit road on lap eight along with Will Brown. Kostecki pitted a lap later. After everyone pitted, Kostecki resumed the lead. On lap 15, Chaz Mostert passed Matthew Payne for fifth place.
Late in the race, Kostecki reported a steering problem but managed to win the race by 1.0687 seconds over Thomas Randle for his fifth win of the season. He took home all 105 points and increased his championship lead over Shane van Gisbergen.
The rest of the top ten finishers were Chaz Mostert third, David Reynolds fourth, Shane van Gisbergen fifth, Matthew Payne sixth, Anton De Pasquale seventh, Bryce Fullwood eighth, Broc Feeney ninth, and Andre Heimgartner tenth.
In Race 22, Brodie Kostecki beat a flying Nick Percat heading into Turn 1 to keep the lead, while Cam Waters fell to fourth place behind Thomas Randle. Waters would get both Randle and Percat to take back second place on the second lap.
Cam Waters pitted on lap 12 which led to Kostecki to pit a lap later and Mark Winterbottom, who had not pitted, was the new leader. Once Winterbottom pitted, Kostecki retook the lead with five laps to go with Cam Waters sitting in second place and Thomas Randle in third place.
Late in the race, Cam Waters challenged Kostecki for the lead. He made a last-ditch effort but came up short as Kostecki won his sixth race of the season over Cam Waters by .9468 seconds. Brodie Kostecki completes the weekend sweep and extends his championship lead to 137 points over Shane van Gisbergen.
The rest of the top ten finishers were Thomas Randle third, Nick Percat fourth, Shane van Gisbergen fifth, Will Davison sixth, Anton De Pasquale seventh, James Courtney eighth, Chaz Mostert ninth, and Scott Pye tenth.
The Repco Supercars Championship returns next month for the Penrite Oil Sandown 500 at Sandown International Motor Raceway in Melbourne, Victoria, from September 15-17.
