The Edmonton Elks are offering wildfire evacuees from the Northwest Territories complimentary tickets for this Sunday’s game against the Ottawa Redblacks at 7 pm EST/5 pm MDT on CBS Sports Network. American and Canadian viewers can subscribe to Fubo today to watch all of the 2023 CFL Season.

“We understand that every evacuee’s primary focus is on when they can return home, but we wanted to extend the opportunity to attend Sunday’s game as our way of showing that Edmontonians are here to support our friends from the North,” said Elks Vice President of Stakeholder Relations and Gameday Allan Watt.

Evacuees who are interested in attending Sunday’s game can claim their tickets by showing their evacuation wristband or their NWT driver’s license. Tickets can be claimed this week at the Elks Team Store inside the Commonwealth Community Recreation Centre (open Monday to Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.), or on game day at any ticket window at Commonwealth Stadium.

On Monday, there are 238 active wildfires in the Northwest Territories. Over half of the local population, including approximately 20,000 residents of Yellowknife has been ordered to evacuate.

This will be the second time the Elks (1-9) play the Ottawa Redblacks (3-7). The two teams met in Week 4 at TD Place Stadium where the Redblacks beat the Elks 26-7.
