Former Hamilton Tiger-Cats tight end Nikola Kalinic has joined the practice squad of the Los Angeles Rams on Wednesday. Nikola Kalinic is six foot four and weighs 245 pounds.
The 26-year-old from Toronto, Ontario, signed with the Los Angeles Rams on July 14, 2023, after working out for the Green Bay Packers, Cleveland Browns, and Atlanta Falcons.
In 2022, Kalinic signed with the Indianapolis Colts and was initially placed on the practice squad. He would be elevated to the active roster and played seven games, of which two were starts with one kick return for 15 yards.
The Hamilton Tiger-Cats drafted Kalinic in the second round (10th pick) of the 2019 CFL Draft. He played two seasons in Hamilton with 23 catches for 192 yards, and two touchdowns in 30 games for the Ticats.
Collegiately, Kalinic played four seasons at York University (2015-18) with 38 catches for 416 yards, two touchdowns, and six kick returns for 36 yards in 31 games for the Lions. He became the first player in school history to be named twice to the OUA All-Star Team in one season, once on offense and once on special teams.
