Former Calgary Stampeders offensive lineman Julian Good-Jones cleared waivers on Wednesday and signed with the Eagles practice squad. The Eagles released him on Tuesday and no one claimed him which allowed Good-Jones to return to Philadelphia.
Julian Good-Jones is six foot five and weighs 319 pounds. The 26-year-old from Cedar Rapids, Iowa, played 15 games at left tackle for the Stampeders in 2022 and helped them reach the Western Semi-Final against the B.C. Lions.
Good-Jones played 22 games and two playoff games for the Stampeders in two seasons playing right tackle. Calgary’s offensive line allowed 17 sacks last season while helping the offense produce 135.3 rushing yards per game.
This was Good-Jones’s second stint with the Philadelphia Eagles. He signed with them as an undrafted free agent in 2020 but was cut during training camp.
Collegiately, Good-Jones played four seasons at Iowa State (2016-19) playing 49 games at left tackle and center for the Cyclones. In 2017, he was named Arthur Floyd Scott Outstanding Offensive Lineman Award and in 2019 was named First-Team All-Big 12.
If Good-Jones decides to return to the CFL, he would have to re-sign with Calgary as they hold his rights until February 2024.
