The Michigan Panthers signed offensive lineman Jarrett Horst and wide receiver Devon Ross on Wednesday.
Jarrett Horst is six foot six and weighs 300 pounds. The 23-year-old from Middleton, Wisconsin, was drafted first overall by the Michigan Panthers in the 2023 USFL Draft. In addition, Horst was also drafted by the Orlando Guardians (XFL). Horst signed with the Miami Dolphins as an undrafted free agent this year.
Collegiately, Horst began at Ellsworth Community College in 2018 playing three games for the Panthers before transferring to Arkansas State (2019-20). He played left tackle in 19 games in two seasons for the Red Wolves. In 2019, the Red Wolves had 300 yards in total offense and 312.1 passing yards per game. He was named Third Team All-Sun Belt Honors.
Then, Horst transferred to Michigan State (2021-22) playing 16 games at left tackle for the Spartans. In 2022, he played a total of 427 snaps. He was an Honorable Mention All-Big Ten in 2020.
Devon Ross is five foot nine and weighs 196 pounds. The 28-year-old from Los Angeles, California, was recently released by the Las Vegas Raiders. In 2023, Ross played three games for the Panthers targeted one time before an injury sidelined him for the rest of the season.
The Panthers drafted Ross in the eighth round (338th pick) of the 2022 USFL Draft. He caught 28 passes for 309 yards, one touchdown, and one carry for eight yards in nine games.
Before Michigan, Ross signed with the Tennessee Titans as an undrafted free agent in 2018. He caught six passes for 80 yards in three preseason games for the Titans in 2018. In 2021, Ross signed with the New England Patriots.
Collegiately, Ross played five seasons at Colorado (2013-17) with 143 catches for 1,643 yards, nine touchdowns, seven carries for 34 yards, and five kick returns for 107 yards in 49 games for the Buffaloes.
