The Winnipeg Blue Bombers signed wide receivers Ronnie Blackmon and Ravi Alston, and defensive backs Nate Givhan and Tyrique McGhee.
Ronnie Blackmon is five foot eleven and weighs 185 pounds. The 26-year-old from Atlanta, Georgia, was on the practice squad for the Montreal Alouettes in 2023. In 2022, caught 30 passes for 451 yards, five touchdowns, seven kick returns for 150 yards, and 17 punt returns for 160 yards in ten games for the West Georgia Wolves.
Collegiately, Blackmon began at Colorado (2017-18) on special teams with 23 kick returns for 486 yards, 34 punt returns for 329 yards, and seven tackles in 19 games for the Buffaloes.
Then, Blackmon transferred to Toledo (2019-20). He sat out in 2019 due to transferring from Colorado. In 2020, he caught 12 passes for 149 yards, two touchdowns, two kick returns for 27 yards, and 13 punt returns for 59 yards in six games for the Rockets.
After Toledo, Blackmon transferred to West Georgia (2021-22) with 72 catches for 860 yards, eight touchdowns, one carry for two yards, 24 kick returns for 510 yards, 33 punt returns for 295 yards, one touchdown, and two tackles in 22 games. He was named Second Team All-Gulf South Conference in 2022.
Ravi Alston is six foot three and weighs 203 pounds. The 23-year-old from Lake Elsinore, California, played one season at Montana State in 2022 with 27 catches for 398 yards, and one touchdown in 14 games for the Bobcats, which was second-best on the team.
Before Montana State, Alston played two seasons at St. John’s University in Minnesota (2019-21) with 153 catches for 2,350 yards, 22 yards, and four punt returns for seven yards in 25 games for the Johnnies. He was named First Team All-MIAC in 2019.
Nate Givhan is six foot four and weighs 245 pounds. The 24-year-old from Montgomery, Alabama, signed with the Blue Bombers in February but was released on May 12th. In his final season at Toledo, Givhan had 27 tackles, 6.5 tackles for loss, five sacks, and one forced fumble in 11 games for the Rockets in 2022.
In addition, he had two tackles and one sack in the RoofClaim.com Boca Raton Bowl as the Rockets defeated the Liberty Flames 21-19 and was named defensive MVP.
Givhan played five seasons at Toledo (2018-22) with 97 tackles, 16.5 tackles for loss, 13 sacks, one interception, two pass breakups, three forced fumbles, and one fumble recovery in 47 games for the Rockets.
Tyrique McGhee is five foot ten and weighs 187 pounds. The 25-year-old from Byron, Georgia, signed with the Blue Bombers on June 17th but was released on August 23rd. He attended the Blue Bombers training camp earlier this year before suffering an injury and was later released.
He signed with the Blue Bombers in February 2022. Before Winnipeg, he signed with the Los Angeles Rams as an undrafted free agent in 2020 and was later placed on the practice squad.
Collegiately, McGhee played four seasons at the University of Georgia (2016-19) with 59 tackles, half a sack, two interceptions, 11 pass breakups, and two forced fumbles in 50 games for the Bulldogs.
