Edmonton Elks sign DL Calvin Bundage and release DB Antonio Mitchell

The Edmonton Elks signed defensive lineman Calvin Bundage and released defensive back Antonio Mitchell on Thursday.

Calvin Bundage is six foot two and weighs 220 pounds. The 25-year-old from Edmond, Oklahoma, made 33 tackles (19 solo, 14 assists), 3.5 tackles for loss, one interception for 15 yards, and one pass breakup in four games for the Massachusetts Pirates (IFL) in 2023.

Before Massachusetts, Bundage signed with the Pittsburgh Steelers as an undrafted free agent in 2021. He later signed with the B.C. Lions in 2022.

Collegiately, Bundage played four seasons at Oklahoma State (2016-20) with 148 tackles (100 solo, 48 assists), 23 tackles for loss, 11.5 sacks, and one pass breakup in 46 games for the Cowboys. He is a two-time All-Big 12 Honorable Mention.

 Antonio Mitchell II is five foot eleven and weighs 190 pounds. The 25-year-old from Moreno Valley, California, was on the practice squad for the Edmonton Elks in 2023.

Before Edmonton, Mitchell II competed as a sprinter collegiately, with the track and field teams at Riverside Community College (2017-19), Arizona State University (2019-2021), and Purdue University (2021-22). He won the California Community College Athletic Association championship twice in the 100m (2017-18 and 2018-19) and once in the 200m (2018-19).
