The Philadelphia Eagles signed linebacker Rashaan Evans to the practice squad on Monday according to ESPN reporter Adam Schefter. This signing comes after linebacker Nakobe Dean injured his foot and will miss several weeks.
Rashaan Evans is six foot two and weighs 232 pounds. The 27-year-old from Auburn, Alabama, played for the Atlanta Falcons last season with 159 tackles (86 solo, 73 assists), six tackles for loss, two sacks, two forced fumbles, one fumble recovery, and four pass breakups in 17 games.
Before Atlanta, the Tennessee Titans drafted Evans in the first round (22nd pick) of the 2018 NFL Draft. Evans played four seasons in Tennessee with 317 tackles (196 solo, 121 assists), 15 tackles for loss, three sacks, one forced fumble, three fumble recoveries, two interceptions, and one touchdown in 59 games, of which 50 were starts.
Collegiately, Evans played four seasons at the University of Alabama (2014-17) with 150 tackles (84 solo, 66 assists), 23.5 tackles for loss, 15 sacks, five pass breakups, two forced fumbles, and two fumble recoveries in 42 games for the Crimson Tide. He is a two-time CFP National Champion, First Team All-American, and First Team All-SEC.
