The Michigan Panthers re-signed defensive end Vantrel McMillan for the 2024 season on Thursday. Vantrel McMillan is six foot two and weighs 250 pounds.

The 29-year-old from Albany, Georgia, made eight tackles (6 solo, 2 assists), two tackles for loss, 1.5 sacks, and one pass breakup in nine games for the Panthers in 2023. The Panthers signed McMillan as a free agent on May 5, 2022. He made seven tackles (3 solo, 4 assists), one tackle for loss, and one sack in six games.

In two seasons with the Panthers, McMillan has 15 tackles (9 solo, 6 assists), three tackles for loss, 2.5 sacks, and one pass breakup in 15 games.

Before Michigan, McMillan attended rookie minicamp with the Seattle Seahawks in 2017. Next, he signed with the Montreal Alouettes in 2018 with three tackles in four games. In 2020, McMillan played for the Houston Roughnecks (XFL) with four tackles in four games before the league ended its season due to COVID-19.

In 2022, McMillan played three games for the Massachusetts Pirates (IFL) with five tackles, 1.5 tackles for loss, half a sack, and one pass breakup before signing with Michigan.

Collegiately, McMillan played five seasons at the University of Tennessee-Chattanooga (2012-16) with 115 tackles (72 solo, 43 assists), 26 tackles for loss, 11 sacks, one interception for seven yards, three pass breakups, and five forced fumbles in 34 games for the Mocs. He was named First Team All-SoCon in 2016.
