The Philadelphia Eagles (2-0) had their first home game of the 2023 season on Thursday night against the Minnesota Vikings (0-2) from Lincoln Financial Field. The two teams met for the 31^st time in NFL history including four playoff games.

Philadelphia had 430 yards on offense. Quarterback Jalen Hurts completed 18 of 33 passes (54.5%) for 193 yards, one touchdown, one interception, 12 carries for 35 yards, and two touchdowns. The big play for Hurts was throwing a 63-yard touchdown pass to DeVonta Smith.

The running game was excellent led by D’Andre Swift with 28 carries for 175 yards, one touchdown, and two catches for six yards, and Boston Scott had five carries for 40 yards. In total, the Eagles had 48 carries for 259 yards and three touchdowns.

Wide receiver DeVonta Smith led the receivers with four catches for 131 yards and one touchdown, A.J. Brown had four catches for 29 yards, and tight end Dallas Goedert had six catches for 22 yards. Philadelphia’s defense had 47 tackles (Zach Cunningham had 8 tackles), three tackles for loss, two sacks, two pass breakups, and four fumble recoveries.

Minnesota had 374 yards on offense. Quarterback Kirk Cousins completed 31 of 44 passes (70.5%) for 364 yards, four touchdowns. Running back Alexander Mattison had eight carries for 28 yards and three catches for 11 yards.

Wide receiver Justin Jefferson had 11 catches for 159 yards, Jordan Addison had three catches for 72 yards, one touchdown, and tight end T.J. Hockenson had seven catches for 66 yards and two touchdowns. Minnesota’s defense had 97 tackles, five tackles for loss, four sacks, one interception, and three pass breakups.
