Penn State takes care of business in Illinois

The Penn State Nittany Lions (3-0) visited Memorial Stadium in Champaign, Illinois, on Saturday afternoon against the Illinois Fighting Illini (1-2).

Penn State had 383 yards on offense. Quarterback Drew Allar completed 16 of 33 passes (48.5%) for 208 yards, and six carries for 24 yards. Running backs Kaytron Allen and Nicholas Singleton combined with 24 carries for 91 yards, two touchdowns, and four catches for 58 yards leading the Nittany Lions to a 30-13 win.

Tight end Tyler Warren had three catches for 35 yards, and one touchdown, and wide receiver Liam Clifford made one catch for 33 yards. Penn State’s defense had 65 tackles, six tackles for loss, two sacks, three pass breakups, and one fumble recovery.

Illinois had 303 yards on offense. Quarterback Luke Altmyer completed 15 of 28 passes (53.6%) for 163 yards, four interceptions, and four carries for six yards. Backup quarterback John Paddock completed 8 of 14 passes (57.1%) for 56 yards, one touchdown, and two carries for two yards.

Running back Reggie Love III had 12 carries for 55 yards, one touchdown, and one catch for four yards. Wide receiver Isaiah Williams had five catches for 63 yards. Illinois defense had 82 tackles, four tackles for loss, one sack, and one pass breakup.
