Temple routes Norfolk State for their second win of the season

The Temple Owls (2-1) hosted the Norfolk State Spartans (1-2) on Saturday afternoon from Lincoln Financial Field.

Temple had 532 yards on offense. Quarterback E.J. Warner completed 14 of 22 passes (63.6%) for 238 yards, one touchdown, and three carries for 24 yards leading the Owls to a 41-9 win over the Spartans.

Temple running backs Joquez Smith, Darvon Hubbard, and quarterback Quincy Patterson combined with 24 carries for 212 yards, and four touchdowns, and wide receiver Amad Anderson Jr. led the receivers with five catches for 79 yards. Temple’s defense had 67 tackles, five tackles for loss, and one sack.

Norfolk State had 217 yards. Quarterback Otto Kuhns completed 12 of 21 passes (57.1%) for 110 yards, one touchdown, and six carries for 19 yards. Running back X’Zavion Evans had 13 carries for 59 yards and wide receiver Aaron Moore had two catches for 23 yards and one touchdown. Norfolk State’s defense had 67 tackles, seven tackles for loss, one fumble recovery, and four pass breakups.
