The Memphis Showboats released running back Juwan Washington, Wide receiver DJ Myers, offensive lineman Kwan Stallworth, and defensive lineman Sulaiman Kamara on Friday.
Juwan Washington is five foot six and weighs 190 pounds. The 26-year-old from Fort Worth, Texas, had 58 carries for 173 yards, nine catches for 45 yards, one kick return for seven yards, and two punt returns for 52 yards in eight games for the Showboats in 2023.
The Showboats (then the Tampa Bay Bandits) drafted Washington in the 28th round (232nd pick) of the 2022 USFL Draft. Washington had 92 carries for 299 yards, three touchdowns, ten catches for 69 yards, and four kick returns for 73 yards in ten games for the Bandits.
Collegiately, Washington played four seasons at San Deigo State (2016-19) with 528 carries for 2,691 yards, 24 touchdowns, 33 catches for 284 yards, three touchdowns, 43 kick returns for 1,017 yards, and three touchdowns in 44 games for the Aztecs. He was a 2018 All-Mountain West Honorable Mention.
DJ Myers is six foot three and weighs 190 pounds. The 29-year-old from Woodbridge, Virginia, did not play for the Showboats in 2023. The Showboats (then the Tampa Bay Bandits) signed Myers in September 2022. Before Memphis, Myers played in indoor football for the Philadelphia Soul, Orlando Predators, and Carolina Cobras. In 2021, Myers made 67 catches for 771 yards, and 17 touchdowns for the Orlando Predators.
Collegiately, Myers played two seasons at Lackawanna College (2014-15) with 26 catches for 364 yards and seven touchdowns in ten games for the Falcons. Then, he transferred to Midwestern State (2016-17) with 46 catches for 699 yards, seven touchdowns, one carry for 14 yards, and one touchdown in 14 games for the Mustangs. He was named to the All-Lone Star Conference in 2017.
Kwan Stallworth is six foot four and weighs 295 pounds. The 26-year-old from Lithonia, Georgia, played nine games, making one start for the Showboats in 2023. Memphis was ranked sixth in passing yards per game (172.4), sixth in passing touchdowns (10), sixth in rushing yards per game (85.9), and seventh in rushing touchdowns (4).
The Showboats signed Stallworth as a free agent on October 6, 2022. Before Memphis, Stallworth played for the Jacksonville Sharks (NAL) in 2022 where he was named Second Team All-Pro.
Collegiately, Stallworth played two seasons at Murray State (2015-16) playing 19 games. In 2015, he was part of an offensive line that produced the second-best passing offense (347.3 yards per game) and 12th-best offense overall (466.1 yards per game) in the nation. Then, he transferred to Valdosta State in 2021 playing 11 games for the Blazers.
Sulaiman Kamara is six foot one and weighs 286 pounds. The 26-year-old from Richmond, Virginia, made two tackles (1 solo, 1 assist) in six games for the Showboats in 2023. The Showboats (then Tampa Bay Bandits) signed Kamara on June 1, 2022. Kamara made four tackles (2 solo, 2 assists), and one sack in three games for the Bandits in 2022.
Collegiately, Kamara played five seasons at Wake Forest (2017-21) with 98 tackles (42 solo, 56 assists), 10 tackles for loss, one sack, and three fumble recoveries in 59 games for the Demon Decans.
