Rutgers gets decimated in Michigan

The Rutgers Scarlet Knights (3-1) visited Michigan Stadium on Saturday afternoon against the Michigan Wolverines (4-0). This was the second Big Ten matchup of the season for Rutgers.

Rutgers had 257 yards on offense. Quarterback Gavin Wimsatt completed 11 of 21 passes (52.4%) for 180 yards, one touchdown, one interception, and six carries for 28 yards as the Scarlet Knights lost to the Wolverines by the final score of 31-7.

Running back Kyle Monangai had 11 carries for 27 yards, and wide receiver Christian Dremel had three catches for 85 yards and one touchdown. Rutgers’s defense had 61 tackles, two tackles for loss, two sacks, and two pass breakups.

Michigan had 415 yards on offense. Quarterback J.J. McCarthy completed 15 of 21 passes (71.4%) for 214 yards, one touchdown, and seven carries for 51 yards. Running back Blake Corum had 21 carries for 97 yards and two touchdowns.

Tight end Colston Loveland led the receivers with five catches for 75 yards. Michigan’s defense made 37 tackles, three tackles for loss, one interception, one touchdown, and one pass breakup.
