On Sunday morning, the Lehigh Valley IronPigs announced that due to the remints of Tropical Storm Ophelia, the season finale game against the Worcester Red Sox scheduled for 1:35 pm has been canceled.

Saturday’s game was also cancelled due to unplayable field conditions because of Tropical Storm Ophelia. The IronPigs and Red Sox will split the series 2-2 with the Red Sox winning the overall series 12-10. Tickets for both Saturday and Sunday games can be exchanged for any 2024 home game once they go on sale.

As a result of the cancelled games, the IronPigs will finish the season with an overall record of 80-66 finishing in third place in the International League East Division.

In the first half, the IronPigs finished in fourth place with a 36-37 record, and in the second half division finished 44-29. The IronPigs were eliminated from playoff contention on Friday when the Durham Bulls shut out the Gwinnett Stripers 3-0, while Lehigh Valley lost to Worcester 3-2.

One of the big highlights of the season was Weston Wilson becoming the first IronPigs player to hit 30 home runs and 30 stolen bases in a single season joining the 30-30 club. The IronPigs will return to Coca-Cola Park on Friday, March 29, 2024, against the Worcester Red Sox to kick off the 2024 season.
