The Winnipeg Blue Bombers released defensive end Nate Givhan from the practice squad on Thursday.
Nate Givhan is six foot four and weighs 245 pounds. The 25-year-old from Montgomery, Alabama, attended the Blue Bombers training camp but was released on May 12th, and later re-signed with them on September 6th and was placed on the practice squad.
Before Winnipeg, Givhan played his final season at Toledo, Givhan had 27 tackles, 6.5 tackles for loss, five sacks, and one forced fumble in 11 games for the Rockets in 2022.
In addition, he had two tackles and one sack in the RoofClaim.com Boca Raton Bowl as the Rockets defeated the Liberty Flames 21-19 and was named defensive MVP.
Givhan played five seasons at Toledo (2018-22) with 97 tackles (48 solo, 49 assists), 16.5 tackles for loss, 13 sacks, one interception, two pass breakups, three forced fumbles, and one fumble recovery in 47 games for the Rockets.
