The Villanova Wildcats (3-2) visited Bob Ford Field at Tom & Mary Casey Stadium on Saturday afternoon against the University of Albany Great Danes (3-2).

This was the seventh all-time meeting between these two teams. Villanova was 5-2 against Albany. The Wildcats had won the last two meetings but that streak would end on Saturday.

Villanova had 269 yards on offense. Quarterback Connor Watkins completed 17 of 31 passes (54.8%) for 198 yards, one touchdown, and two interceptions as the Wildcats lost to the Great Danes by the final score of 31-10.

Running back DeeWil Barlee had nine carries for 71 yards, and wide receiver Jaylan Sanchez made four catches for 50 yards and one touchdown. Villanova’s defense made 55 tackles, five tackles for loss, two sacks, and four pass breakups.

Albany had 360 yards on offense. Quarterback Reese Poffenbarger completed 20 of 31 passes (64.5%) for 244 yards, and three touchdowns.

Running back Griffin Woodell had 16 carries for 107 yards, and one touchdown, and wide receiver Brevin Easton made five catches for 86 yards. Albany’s defense made 51 tackles, nine tackles for loss, seven sacks, five forced fumbles, three fumble recoveries, two interceptions, and three pass breakups.
