The New Orleans Breakers re-signed defensive tackle Reggie Howard Jr., linebacker Nigel Chavis, and defensive back Adonis Alexander for the 2024 season on Tuesday.

Reggie Howard Jr. is six foot three and weighs 290 pounds. The 27-year-old from Cincinnati, Ohio, made 20 tackles (10 solo, 10 assists), two tackles for loss, and 1.5 sacks in ten games for the Breakers in 2023. The Tampa Bay Bandits drafted Howard Jr. in the 25th pick (207th pick) of the 2022 USFL Draft. He played seven games for the Bandits with 24 tackles (13 solo, 11 assists) and two sacks in seven games before the Bandits released him on May 31, 2022.

Then, he signed with the Breakers. He made six tackles (3 solo, 3 assists), three tackles for loss, three sacks, and one pass breakup in three games. He was named a USFL All-Star in 2022.

Before New Orleans, Howard Jr. signed with the Los Angeles Chargers as an undrafted free agent in 2019. He would also have stints with the Los Angeles Wildcats (XFL) and Edmonton Elks (CFL).

Collegiately, Howard Jr. played one season at Fort Scott Community College in 2016 with 60 tackles (24 solo, 36 assists), 21.5 tackles for loss, seven sacks, two forced fumbles, and two pass breakups in 11 games for the Greyhounds.

Then, he transferred to Toledo (2017-18) with 64 tackles (30 solo, 34 assists), 19.5 tackles for loss, three sacks, and two forced fumbles in 26 games for the Rockets.

Nigel Chavis is six foot one and weighs 230 pounds. The 26-years-old from Richmond, Virginia, made six tackles (4 solo, 2 assists) in ten games for the Breakers in 2023. The Breakers drafted Chavis in the fourth round (33rd pick) of the 2022 USFL Draft. In 2022, Chavis made 37 tackles (18 solo, 19 assists), three tackles for loss, and one sack in ten games for the Breakers.

Collegiately, Chavis played four seasons at Norfolk State (2016-19) with 315 tackles (149 solo, 166 assists), 37.5 tackles for loss, 14.5 sacks, two interceptions for 14 yards, 11 pass breakups, six forced fumbles, three fumble recoveries, and one blocked kick in 45 games for the Spartans. He was a two-time First Team All-MEAC and three-time All-MEAC Honorable Mention.

Adonis Alexander is six foot three and weighs 190 pounds. The 26-year-old from Charlotte, North Carolina, made 19 tackles (15 solo, 4 assists), two fumble recoveries, and six pass breakups in nine games for the Breakers in 2023. In the playoffs against Birmingham, Alexander made three tackles (2 solo, 1 assist).

The Breakers drafted Alexander in the eighth round (65th pick) of the 2022 USFL Draft. In 2022, Alexander made 35 tackles (22 solo, 13 assists), two interceptions, one fumble recovery, and four pass breakups in nine games for the Breakers.

Before New Orleans, Alexander was drafted by the Washington Redskins in the sixth round of the 2018 NFL Supplemental Draft. He played nine games for the Redskins with 27 tackles (23 solo, 4 assists), one sack, and one interception. After Washington, he had stints with the Los Angeles Rams, San Francisco 49ers, and New Orleans Saints.

Collegiately, Alexander played three seasons at Virginia Tech (2015-17) with 125 tackles (91 solo, 34 assists), 4.5 tackles for loss, one sack, seven interceptions, 17 pass breakups, and one forced fumble in 32 games for the Hokies. He was named All-ACC Honorable Mention in 2016.
