The Saskatchewan Roughriders signed linebacker Jaylen Moody and released defensive back Tedric Thompson on Tuesday.

Jaylen Moody is six foot and weighs 222 pounds. The 24-year-old from Conway, South Carolina, signed with the Cincinnati Bengals as an undrafted free agent in 2023 and played two preseason games before he was released on August 29, 2023.

Collegiately, Moody played five seasons at the University of Alabama (2018-22) with 93 tackles (44 solo, 49 assists), eight tackles for loss, two sacks, one interception for 13 yards, one pass breakup, one forced fumble, and two fumble recoveries in 65 games for the Crimson Tide.

Moody earned the Alabama Football President’s Award in 2022, given to a player from each unit who has shown perseverance in making outstanding contributions to the team’s success. Moody helped the Crimson Tide capture the 2020 College Football National Championship over Ohio State playing special teams.

Tedric Thompson is six foot and weighs 204 pounds. The 28-year-old from Inglewood, California, signed with the Roughriders on September 12, 2023, and was placed on the practice squad.

Before Saskatchewan, Thompson was drafted by the Seattle Seahawks in the fourth round (111th pick) of the 2017 NFL Draft. In addition to Seattle, he played for the Kansas City Chiefs, Tennessee Titans, and Cleveland Browns with 93 tackles (63 solo, 30 assists), three interceptions, five pass breakups, one forced fumble, and two fumble recoveries in 38 games, of which 16 were starts.

Collegiately, Thompson played four seasons at Colorado (2013-16) with 174 tackles (133 solo, 41 assists), five tackles for loss, seven interceptions for 142 yards, 22 pass breakups, one forced fumble, and one blocked kick in 38 games for the Buffaloes. He was named First Team All-PAC 12 in 2016.
