The Birmingham Stallions signed defensive back Madre Harper on Thursday.
Madre Harper is six foot one and weighs 196 pounds. The 25-year-old from Irving, Texas, played three preseason games for the Pittsburgh Steelers in 2023 with five tackles (4 solo, 1 assist) and one pass breakup.
Before Pittsburgh, Harper signed with the Las Vegas Raiders as an undrafted free agent in 2020. He would also spend time with the New York Giants and Carolina Panthers. Harper played 12 career NFL games with the Giants (9 games) and Panthers (3 games) with five tackles (5 solo).
Collegiately, Harper played two seasons at Oklahoma State (2016-17) with 10 tackles (7 solo, 3 assists) and one fumble recovery in 14 games for the Cowboys.
Then, he transferred to Southern Illinois (2018-19) with 88 tackles (70 solo, 18 assists), one tackle for loss, half a sack, two interceptions for 16 yards, 20 pass breakups, and one forced fumble in 21 games for the Salukis. He was named an All-MVFC Honorable Mention in 2019.
