The Birmingham Stallions signed defensive tackle Carlos Davis and defensive end Curtis Weaver for the 2024 season on Friday.
Carlos Davis is six foot two and weighs 320 pounds. The 27-year-old from Blue Springs, Missouri, played three preseason games for the Atlanta Falcons in 2023 with two tackles (2 solo).
Before Atlanta, Davis was drafted by the Pittsburgh Steelers in the seventh round (232nd pick) of the 2020 NFL Draft. Davis played 12 regular season games for the Steelers in three seasons with 12 tackles (8 solo, 4 assists), three tackles for loss, and one sack.
Collegiately, Davis played four seasons at Nebraska (2016-19) with 125 tackles (59 solo, 66 assists), 16 tackles for loss, 9.5 sacks, eight pass breakups, one forced fumble, and two fumble recoveries in 46 games for the Cornhuskers. He was named All-Big Ten Honorable Mention in 2018.
Curtis Weaver is six foot two and weighs 265 pounds. The 25-year-old from Long Beach, California, played two preseason games for the Minnesota Vikings in 2023 with two tackles (1 solo, 1 assist).
Before Minnesota, Weaver was drafted by the Miami Dolphins in the fifth round (164th pick) of the 2020 NFL Draft. In the same season, the Dolphins traded Weaver to the Cleveland Browns and played one regular season game with one tackle (1 assist).
Collegiately, Weaver played four seasons at Boise State (2016-19) with 128 tackles (72 solo, 56 assists), 46.5 tackles for loss, 34 sacks, two interceptions for 17 yards, eight pass breakups, three forced fumbles, and one fumble recovery in 41 games for the Broncos. He is a three-time First Team All-Mountain West and First Team All-American in 2019.
