Connor Watkins throws three touchdowns to lead the Wildcats to victory

The Villanova Wildcats (4-2) visited Truist Stadium on a late Saturday afternoon against North Carolina A&T Aggies (1-4) in their first-ever meeting.

Villanova had 289 yards on offense. Quarterback Connor Watkins completed 16 of 23 passes (69.5%) for 289 yards, three touchdowns, and six carries for 12 yards leading the Wildcats to a 37-14 win over the Aggies.

Running back DeeWil Barlee had 16 carries for 94 yards, and one touchdown, and wide receiver Jaylan Sanchez had six catches for 158 yards and two touchdowns. Villanova’s defense made 43 tackles, nine tackles for loss, and four sacks.

North Carolina A&T had 172 yards on offense. Quarterback Kevin White completed 8 of 17 passes (47%) for 64 yards, 13 carries for 44 yards, and one touchdown. Running back Kenji Christian had 11 carries for 64 yards, and wide receiver Nicholas Dobson had four catches for 52 yards. North Carolina A&T’s defense made 78 tackles, eight tackles for loss, three sacks, three forced fumbles, and one fumble recovery.
