The Temple Owls (2-4) hosted the University of Texas-San Antonio (2-3) on Saturday afternoon from Lincoln Financial Field in their first-ever meeting.
Temple had 542 yards on offense. Quarterback E.J. Warner completed 42 of 65 passes (64.6%) for 472 yards, and five touchdowns in a 49-34 loss to the Roadrunners. Running back Joquez Smith had 10 carries for 27 yards and two catches for 10 yards.
Wide receiver David Martin-Robinson had eight catches for 112 yards, and two touchdowns, while wide receiver John Adams had 10 catches for 127 yards and one touchdown. Temple’s defense made 65 tackles, four tackles for loss, one sack, and one pass breakup.
UTSA had 495 yards on offense. Quarterback Frank Harris completed 25 of 33 passes (75%) for 338 yards, three touchdowns, five carries or eight yards, and one touchdown.
Running back Robert Henry had 11 carries for 78 yards, and two touchdowns, and wide receiver Devin McCuin had six catches for 94 yards and one touchdown. UTSA’s defense made 87 tackles, seven tackles for loss, one sack, six pass breakups, and two fumble recoveries.
