Lehigh Valley loses second preseason game in Wilke-Barre

The Lehigh Valley Phantoms (0-2) visited the Mohegan Sun Arena at Casey Plaza on Saturday night against the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins (2-0) in the second preseason game.

Two minutes and fifty-one seconds into the first period, Alex Kile put the Phantoms up 1-0. Then, the Penguins scored three goals from Jagger Joshua, Jack St. Ivany, and Jordan Frasca. The Penguins led 3-1 after one period.

Five minutes and thirteen seconds into the second period, Adam Karashik cut the Penguins lead down to 3-2. However, the Penguins would get the goal back from Lukas Svejkovsky four minutes and fifty-eight seconds later. The Penguins led 4-2 after two periods.

In the third period, Jordan Frasca scored his second goal on an empty-netter with under five minutes left in the game which made it 5-2. The Phantoms lost to the Penguins 5-2.

Lehigh Valley goalies Nolan Maier made 11 of 15 saves allowing four goals, and Parker Gahagen made all nine saves. The Phantoms close out the preseason on Sunday against the Hershey Bears at 1:05 pm.
