The Saskatchewan Roughriders released wide receiver Kendall Watson and defensive back William Poole III on Wednesday.
Kendall Watson is five foot ten and weighs 183 pounds. The 24-year-old from Chattanooga, Tennessee, made 17 catches for 154 yards in four games for the Roughriders in 2023.
Collegiately, Watson played five seasons at Samford University (2018-22) with 167 catches for 2,064 yards, 14 touchdowns, and two carries for six yards in 47 games for the Bulldogs.
In his final collegiate season, Watson made 88 catches for 1,034 yards, 6.8 average receptions per game, ten touchdowns, and one carry for one yard in 13 games for the Bulldogs. Watson was named SoCon Second-Team All-Conference.
William Poole III is six foot and weighs 190 pounds. The 24-year-old from Atlanta, Georgia, signed with the Roughriders on September 18, 2023, and was on the practice squad.
Collegiately, he played six seasons at the University of Georgia (2017-22) making 27 tackles (22 solo, 5 assists), 1.5 tackles for loss, and four pass breakups in 33 games for the Bulldogs.
In 2021, Georgia’s defense allowed 9.5 points per game on their way to winning the CFP National Championship. In the championship game, Poole III made four tackles (3 solo, 1 assist), half a tackle for loss, and two pass breakups.
