Two champions crowned at Road Atlanta

The No. 69 Motorsports In Action McLaren (GS) wins the Fox Factory 120 on Friday in Michelin Raceway Road Atlanta.

The IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge concluded the 2023 season on Friday at Michelin Raceway Road Atlanta for the Fox Factory 120.

The No. 69 Motorsports In Action McLaren of Jesse Lazare and Alex Filsinger started the race on the pole in GS. They dominated the race from start to finish winning the race under caution over the No. 47 NOLASPORT Porsche of Elliott Skeer and Adam Adelson.

When the race ended, it was presumed that the No. 71 Rebel Rock Racing Chevrolet Camaro of Robin Liddell and Frank DePew, who finished in sixth place won the GS championship.

However, after two penalties were issued to the No. 14 and No. 50 Toyota Supra GT4 EVOs for drive-time violations, the No. 96 Turner Motorsport of Robby Foley and Vincent Barletta, who finished in 13th, moved to finish 11th to win the GS Championship by 10 points.

In TCR, the No. 98 Bryan Herta Autosport with Curb Agajanian Hyundai Elantra of Mark Wilkins and Mason Filippi started the race on the pole.

The No. 98 dominated the race from start to finish to win over the No. 91 van der Steur Racing Hyundai Elantra of Tyler Maxson and Bryan Ortiz. Meanwhile, the No. 33 Bryan Herta Autosport with Curb Agajanian Hyundai Elantra of Harry Gottsacker and Robert Wickens finished in fourth place to win the TCR championship.

The IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge returns in January 2024 at Daytona International Speedway.
