The New Orleans Breakers signed tight end Marcus Baugh and wide receiver Jimmie Robinson Jr. for the 2024 season on Monday.
Marcus Baugh is six foot four and weighs 246 pounds. The 28-year-old from Riverside, California, made 18 catches for 199 yards, and two touchdowns in ten games for the Michigan Panthers in 2023. In the playoffs, Baugh was targeted one time against the Pittsburgh Maulers.
The Michigan Panthers drafted Baugh in the third round (300th pick) of the 2022 USFL Supplemental Draft. In 2022, Baugh made 12 catches for 101 yards, and one touchdown in eight games for the Panthers.
Before Michigan, Baugh signed with the Oakland Raiders as an undrafted free agent in 2018. He would also spend time with the Carolina Panthers, Washington Football Team, and the Pittsburgh Steelers. In 2019, he played for the San Diego Fleet (AAF) with 13 catches for 208 yards, and two touchdowns in eight games, of which four were starts.
Collegiately, Baugh played four seasons at Ohio State (2014-17) with 55 catches for 607 yards, eight touchdowns, and one carry for five yards in 27 games for the Buckeyes.
Jimmie Robinson Jr. is five foot eight and weighs 180 pounds. The 26-year-old from Palm Coast, Florida, played for the Massachusetts Pirates (IFL) in 2023 with 27 catches for 215 yards, and three touchdowns in 14 games.
Before Massachusetts, Robinson Jr. signed with the Cincinnati Bengals as an undrafted free agent in 2019 and took part in their rookie mini-camp. He later signed with the B.C. Lions (CFL) in 2021.
Collegiately, Robinson Jr. played one season at Mercer University in 2015 with 19 catches for 233 yards, one touchdown, seven carries for 27 yards, 21 kick returns for 513 yards, and one punt return for two yards in 11 games for the Bears. He was named to the SoCon All-Freshman Team.
Then, Robinson Jr. transferred to Bethune-Cookman University (2018-19) with 59 catches (12.8 AVG/C) for 753 yards (26 AVG/G), eight touchdowns, 63 carries for 536 yards 18.5 (AVG/G), four touchdowns, 55 kick returns for 1,610 yards, four touchdowns, and three punt returns for 38 yards in 29 games for the Wildcats. He is a two-time FCS All-American and First Team All-MEAC as a wide receiver and kick returner.
