Reading Royals acquire Forward Joe Nardi from Fort Wayne

The Reading Royals acquired forward Joe Nardi from the Fort Wayne Comets on Tuesday for cash considerations.

Joe Nardi is five foot ten and weighs 179 pounds. The 26-year-old from Edmonton, Alberta, earned 23 points (5 goals, 18 assists), and 24 penalty minutes in 56 games for the Toledo Walleye last season. In addition, he earned one point (1 assist) in four games for the Manitoba Moose (AHL) last season. Nardi signed with the Comets on August 8, 2023.

Before Fort Wayne, Nardi played three seasons for the Whitecourt Wolverines (AJHL) with 136 points (47 goals, 89 assists), and 116 penalty minutes. In the playoffs, Nardi had 25 points (8 goals, 17 assists), and 33 penalty minutes in 31 games.

Internationally, Nardi played on Team Canada West’s top line for two seasons in the World Junior A Challenges with eight points (2 goals, 6 assists) in four games. He was an alternate captain in 2016 and won a gold medal in 2015.

Collegiately, Nardi played five seasons at Northern Michigan University (2017-21) with 113 points (41 goals, 72 assists) on 305 shots, 72 penalty minutes, 14 power-play goals, one short-hand goal, and nine game-winning goals for the Wildcats. He was named Team Captain in the final season and was named Second Team All-WCHA.
