Marcus Yarns scores five touchdowns leading to a Delaware win over Towson

Delaware running back Marcus Yarns scored five touchdowns against Towson on Saturday.

The Delaware Fightin’ Blue Hens (7-1) visited Johnny Unitas Stadium on Saturday afternoon against the Towson Tigers (3-5). This was the 23rd all-time meeting between these two teams dating back to 1982. Delaware won 13 games against Towson. They would add another one on Saturday.

Delaware had 619 yards on offense. Quarterback Zach Marker completed 16 of 18 passes (88%) for 307 yards, two touchdowns, and nine carries for 44 yards. Running back Marcus Yarns had 13 carries for 63 yards, four touchdowns, and four catches for 105 yards, and one touchdown leading the Blue Hens to a 51-13 win over the Tigers.

Delaware tight end Braden Brose made one catch for 12 yards, and one touchdown. Delaware’s defense made 55 tackles, six tackles for loss, three sacks, one interception, three pass breakups, and one fumble recovery.

Towson had 326 yards on offense. Quarterback Nathan Kent completed 21 of 39 passes (53.8%) for 265 yards, one touchdown, one interception, and seven carries for 11 yards.

Towson running back Devin Matthews had nine carries for 46 yards, and wide receiver Lukkas Londono made five catches for 97 yards. Towson’s defense made 71 tackles, four tackles for loss, two sacks, and one forced fumble.
