Ryan Chyzowski and Alec Butcher score goals in a Royals loss

The Reading Royals (1-3-1-1) visited the Huntington Center on Friday night against the Toledo Walleye (2-0-1) in their first meeting of the season.

Fifty-seven seconds into the first period, Ryan Chyzowski put the Royals up 1-0 with an assist by Matt Brown. For the rest of the first period, Toledo scored four goals by Chase Gresock, Kirill Tyutyayev, and Brandon Hawkins scored two goals. The Royals had six shots on goal in the first period but trailed 4-1.

Twenty-eight seconds into the second period, Alec Butcher scored a power play goal which cut the Walleye’s lead to 4-2 with assists from Matt Brown and Adam Brubacher. The Royals had eight shots on goal but trailed Toledo 4-2 with one period left to play.

At 14:53 in the third period, Brandon Kruse put the game away 5-2 with assists from Mitchell Lewandowski and Sam Craggs. The Royals lost to the Walleye by the final score of 5-2.
