E.J. Warner returns leading Temple to victory over Navy

Temple quarterback E.J. Warner throws four touchdowns leading the Owls to victory on Saturday against Navy.

The Temple Owls (3-6) hosted the Navy Midshipmen (3-5) on Saturday afternoon from Lincoln Financial Field. The Owls defeated the Midshipmen by the final score of 32-18.

Temple had 448 yards on offense. Quarterback E.J. Warner completed 27 of 33 passes (81%) for 402 yards, four touchdowns, two interceptions, and one carry for two yards. Running back Edward Saydee had eight carries for 38 yards.

Temple wide receiver Zae Baines made seven catches for 132 yards. Temple’s defense made 65 tackles, seven tackles for loss, two sacks, and one pass breakup.

Navy had 268 yards on offense. Quarterback Xavier Arline completed 6 of 14 passes (43%) for 124 yards, one touchdown, 30 carries for 97 yards, and one touchdown. Running back Brandon Chatman had seven carries for 22 yards, and two catches for 35 yards.

Navy wide receiver Jayden Umbarger made one catch for 22 yards. Navy’s defense made 62 tackles, two tackles for loss, one pass breakup, and two interceptions.
