Reading Royals score a pair of goals in a loss at Wheeling

The Reading Royals (1-4-1-1) visited the WesBanco Arena on Saturday night against the Wheeling Nailers (3-1) for the first time this season.

At 11:39 of the first period, Cédric Desruisseaux put the Nailers up 1-0 with assists from Justin Addamo and Lukas Svejkovsky. Late in the first period, Isaac Belliveau extended the Nailers lead to 2-0 with assists by Justin Addamo and Thimo Nickl. The Royals had three shots on goal but trailed the Nailers 2-0 after one period.

At 18:01 in the second period, Ryan Chyzowski scored for the Royals which made it 2-1 Wheeling with assists by Shane Sellar and Devon Paliani. The Royals had eight shots on goal but trailed 2-1 after two periods.

At 10:07 of the third period, Davis Bunz got the goal back for Wheeling 3-2 with assists from Jordan Frasca and Dillon Hamaliuk. Then, at 12:42, Matt Brown scored for the Royals which made it 3-2 Wheeling with assists from Koletrane Wilson and Adam Brubacher.

The Royals lost to the Nailers by the final score of 3-2. The Royals had 17 shots on goal, committed three penalties, went 0 for 3 on the power play, and Will Cranley made 28 saves off 31 shots.
