The Philadelphia Eagles received bad news on Monday as tight end Dallas Goedert will miss approximately four weeks after suffering a fractured forearm in Sunday night’s 28-23 win over the Dallas Cowboys.
The Injury occurred in the third quarter with 3:03 left after Dallas defensive back Markquese Bell grabbed his arm to bring him down and Goedert landed on his right arm. You can click here to see the injury. Goedert got off to a slow start and finished the game with 3 catches for 50 yards.
“Goedert is scheduled for an MRI and additional tests on Monday to confirm the diagnosis and need for surgery,” said NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport on Monday’s episode of Good Morning Football. Rapoport added that the procedure would likely happen as soon as today, and the hope is that Goedert would only miss around four weeks.
Dallas Goedert is six foot five and weighs 256 pounds. The 28-year-old from Britton, South Dakota, made 38 catches for 410 yards, and two touchdowns in nine games this season.
The Eagles drafted Goedert in the second round (49th pick) of the 2018 NFL Draft. He is in his sixth season in Philadelphia with 286 catches for 3,407 yards, and 21 touchdowns in 78 games, of which 61 were starts.
Collegiately, Goedert played four seasons at South Dakota State (2014-17) with 198 catches for 2,988 yards, 21 touchdowns, four carries for 15 yards, and one touchdown in 53 games for the Jackrabbits. He was a three-time First Team All-MVFC (2015-17) and a two-time First Team FCS All-American (2016-17).
