Ryan Chyzowski’s three-point night leads them to an overtime win

Ryan Chyzowski had a three-point night on Wednesday against Norfolk.

The Reading Royals (2-5-1-1) returned to the Santander Arena on Wednesday night against the Norfolk Admirals (4-3-1-1).

Four minutes and thirty-seven seconds into the first period, Darren Brady put the Royals up 1-0 with assists from Tyson Fawcett and Devon Paliani. Nine seconds later, the Admirals tied it up 1-1 by Ryan Foss with assists from Domenick Fensore and Simon Kubicek.

Later in the first period, Matt Brown put the Royals back up 2-1 with an assist by Brendan Hoffmann. The Royals had 12 shots on goal and led 2-1 after one period.

A minute into the second period, Norfolk tied the game 2-2 on a goal by Justin Robidas with assists from Carson Golder and Thomas Milic. Two minutes and fifty-three seconds later, Ryan Chyzowski put the Royals back up 3-2 with an assist from Devon Paliani.

At 4:21, Koletrane Wilson extended the Royals lead to 4-2 with assists from Ryan Chyzowski and Tyson Fawcett. Late in the second period, Mark Liwiski cut the Royals lead down to 4-3 with assists from Stepan Timofeyev and Keaton Jameson. The Royals had nine shots on goal and led 4-3 with one period left to play.

At 11:34 of the third period, Reading’s Adam Brubacher scored a power play goal which made it 5-3 with assists from Matt Brown and Devon Paliani. Then, the Admirals stormed back to tie the game 5-5 with goals by Thomas Caron and Mathieu Roy. The Royals had 11 shots on goal but the game was tied 5-5 heading into overtime.

A minute and fifty seconds into overtime, Ryan Chyzowski ended the game to give the Royals a 6-5 overtime win. The Royals had 34 shots on goal, committed two penalties for four minutes, and Will Cranley made 32 saves off 37 shots.
