The Calgary Stampeders re-signed defensive lineman Damontre Moore for the 2024 season on Monday.
Damontre Moore is six foot four and weighs 260 pounds. The 31-year-old from Rowlett, Texas, made two tackles in one game against the Winnipeg Blue Bombers in 2023. The Stampeders signed Moore on October 16, 2023.
Before Calgary, Moore was with the Toronto Argonauts in 2023 but was released after training camp. He later signed with the Montreal Alouettes and was placed on the practice before being released on October 12, 2023.
In 2022, Moore played one game for the Argonauts. Before Toronto, he signed with the Indianapolis Colts in 2021 but was released and later joined the practice squad with the Carolina Panthers.
The New York Giants drafted Moore in the third round (81st pick) in the 2013 NFL Draft from Texas A&M. He played 66 career games in the NFL for the Giants, Miami Dolphins, Seattle Seahawks, Dallas Cowboys, Oakland Raiders, and San Francisco 49ers with 97 tackles, 11 sacks, five forced fumbles, one fumble recovery, four pass breakups, and two blocks on special teams.
In addition, he played for the San Diego Fleet (AAF) with 39 tackles (22 solo, 17 assists), and 7.5 sacks in seven games before the league ceased operations.
Collegiately, Moore played three seasons at Texas A&M (2010-12) with 197 tackles (116 solo, 81 assists), 45 tackles for loss, 26.5 sacks, one interception, five pass breakups, eight forced fumbles, one fumble recovery, and two blocks on special teams in 38 games for the Aggies.
He was named Freshman All-Big 12 honors in 2010, and in 2012 was named first-team All-American and a first-team All-Southeastern Conference.
