The Calgary Stampeders re-signed running back LeVante Bellamy for the 2024 season on Wednesday.
LeVante Bellamy is five foot nine and weighs 189 pounds. The 26-year-old from Indianapolis, Indiana, had 23 carries for 70 yards, five catches for 22 yards, and four kick returns for 95 yards in seven games for the Stampeders in 2023. The Stampeders signed Bellamy as a free agent on January 13, 2023.
Before Calgary, Bellamy spent two seasons on the Denver Broncos practice squad. The Broncos signed Bellamy as an undrafted free agent in 2020. Bellamy had four carries for 11 yards, and one catch for five yards in five games for the Broncos in 2020. In addition, he played one preseason game in 2021 against the Minnesota Vikings with four carries for two yards.
Collegiately, Bellamy played five seasons at Western Michigan (2015-19) with 617 carries for 3,720 yards, 35 touchdowns, 57 catches for 370 yards, one touchdown, and 19 kick returns for 358 yards in 48 games for the Broncos. He was a two-time First-Team All-MAC (2018-19) and MAC Offensive Player of the Year (2019).
