The Saskatchewan Roughriders and wide receiver Brayden Lenius agreed to a one-year contract extension through the 2024 season on Thursday.

Brayden Lenius is six foot five and weighs 220 pounds. The 26-year-old from Regina, Saskatchewan, made two catches for 12 yards in one game against the Toronto Argonauts.

Lenius battled injuries in 2023 suffering a lacerated kidney in the second preseason game and a lisfranc injury that ended his season. This will be Lenius’s fifth season in Saskatchewan. In four seasons, Lenius made 58 catches for 659 yards, five touchdowns, and one kick return for four yards in 35 games.

The Roughriders drafted Lenius in the second round (15th pick) of the 2019 CFL Draft. In 2022, Lenius made 37 catches for 471 yards and four touchdowns in 14 games. After the season, the Roughriders released Lenius and he later signed with the Atlanta Falcons. Lenius was released by the Falcons on July 28, 2022, and he later returned to Saskatchewan.

Collegiately, Lenius played four seasons at Washington (2014-17) with 42 catches for 452 yards and three touchdowns in 40 games for the Huskies. Then, Lenius transferred to New Mexico in 2018 with six catches for 39 yards, one touchdown, and three kick returns for 18 yards in 11 games for the Lobos.
