The Penn State Nittany Lions (9-2) hosted the Rutgers Scarlet Knights (6-5) on Saturday afternoon from Beaver Stadium in their 28th all-time meeting dating back to 1958.
The Nittany Lions had won 16 straight games against the Scarlet Knights and would add another one to the win column on Saturday. The Nittany Lions defeated the Scarlet Knights by the final score of 27-3.
Penn State had 322 yards on offense. Quarterback Drew Allar completed 6 of 13 passes (46.2%) for 79 yards, and three carries for 28 yards. Running back Kaytron Allen had 16 carries for 69 yards, and two touchdowns, while tight end Tyler Warren made two catches for 32 yards. Penn State’s defense made 61 tackles, seven tackles for loss, three sacks, one interception, and one fumble recovery.
Rutgers had 229 yards on offense. Quarterback Gavin Wimsatt completed 10 of 16 passes (63%) for 130 yards, one interception, and 17 carries for 31 yards. Running back Kyle Monangai had 16 carries for 39 yards, and wide receiver Isaiah Washington made five catches for 55 yards. Rutgers’s defense made 56 tackles, one tackle for loss, and two pass breakups.
Both teams wrap up the regular season next Saturday with Penn State visiting Michigan State at 7:30 pm on NBC, and Rutgers hosts Maryland at 3:30 pm on the Big Ten Network.
