The Saskatchewan Roughriders signed defensive backs Rodney Clemons, Cole Coleman, and Mark Fields II on Wednesday.

Rodney Clemons is six foot and weighs 205 pounds. The 26-year-old from Katy, Texas, made one tackle on special teams in three games for the Roughriders in 2023. The Roughriders signed Clemons as a free agent on January 16, 2023.

Before Saskatchewan, Clemons spent two seasons on the Kansas City Chiefs and Tennessee Titans practice squads. As a member of the Titans, Clemons played one preseason game with two tackles and one pass breakup.

Collegiately, Clemons played five seasons at Southern Methodist University (2015-19) with 275 tackles (204 solo, 71 assists), 11.5 tackles for loss, two sacks, seven interceptions, 34 pass breakups, three forced fumbles, two fumble recoveries, and two blocked kicks in 54 games for the Mustangs. He was named Second-Team All-AAC in 2019.

Cole Coleman is five foot nine and weighs 188 pounds. The 23-year-old from Raleigh, North Carolina, signed with the Indianapolis Colts as an undrafted free agent in 2023 and attended training camp.

Collegiately, Coleman played five seasons at Elon University (2018-22) with 281 tackles (156 solo, 125 assists), 9.5 tackles for loss, 1 sack, 3 interceptions for 18 yards, 9 pass breakups, 4 forced fumbles, 2 fumble recoveries, and one blocked punt in 42 games for the Phoenix.

Coleman was a Second Team All-CAA in 2020, 2021 Second Team All-SEC by Phil Steele, and First Team All-CAA in 2021.

Mark Fields II is five foot ten and weighs 180 pounds. The 27-year-old from Cornelius, North Carolina, was on Saskatchewan’s practice squad in 2023. The Roughriders signed Fields II on October 18, 2023.

Before Saskatchewan, Fields II signed with the Birmingham Stallions as a free agent on August 22, 2022, but did not play for them after Birmingham placed him on the did not report list.

The Kansas City Chiefs signed Mark Fields II as an undrafted free agent in 2019. He later signed with the Minnesota Vikings and played one game in the same season.

In 2020, Fields II played two games for the Vikings with one tackle before he was released and later signed with the Houston Texans in the same season. Fields II played two games for the Texans with one tackle.

Collegiately, Fields II played four seasons at Clemson (2015-18) with 42 tackles (33 solo, 9 assists), five tackles for loss, one sack, 12 pass breakups, one interception, and one touchdown in 46 games, of which six were starts for the Tigers.
