The Toronto Argonauts signed defensive back Jordan Jones and re-signed defensive tackle Tyler Williams on Monday.

Jordan Jones is six foot one and weighs 180 pounds. The 24-year-old from Brooklyn, New York, signed with the Los Angeles Rams as an undrafted free agent in 2023. He played three preseason games with 13 tackles (9 solo, 4 assists).

Collegiately, Jones played two seasons at Nassau Community College (2017-18) with 54 tackles (47 solo, 7 assists) and 11 interceptions for 89 yards in 22 games for the Lions. He was named Junior College All-American in 2017.

Then, Jones transferred to Rhode Island (2019-22) with 81 tackles (59 solo, 22 assists), 1 sack, 9 interceptions for 194 yards, and 2 touchdowns in 29 games for the Rams. He was a First Team All-CAA in 2022.

Tyler Williams is six foot two and weighs 295 pounds. The 24-year-old from West Palm Beach, Florida, was on the Argonauts practice squad in 2023. He played one preseason game against the Ottawa Redblacks with three tackles and one pass breakup.

Before Toronto, Williams made 26 tackles (14 solo, 12 assists), six tackles for loss, 3.5 sacks, one pass breakup, and one blocked kick in 13 games for the Demon Decans in 2022. Williams helped Wake Forest win back-to-back bowl games with a victory in the 2022 Gasparilla Bowl over Missouri. He had a least one tackle in 12 of 13 games, including eight games of two or more tackles.

Williams played five seasons at Wake Forest (2018-22) with 65 tackles (36 solo, 29 assists), 15 tackles for loss, five sacks, one pass breakup, one forced fumble, and one blocked kick in 44 games. In 2021, Williams made two tackles (1 solo, 1 assist) and one tackle for loss as Wake Forest had a historic 11-win season en route to the ACC Atlantic Division and Gator Bowl titles.
