The Birmingham Stallions released defensive end Darrion Daniels and defensive back Bryan Mills on Wednesday.

Darrion Daniels is six foot three and weighs 311 pounds. The 26-year-old from Dallas, Texas, made two tackles (2 assists) and one fumble recovery in three games for the Stallions in 2023. The Stallions signed Daniels as a free agent on December 16, 2022.

Before Birmingham, Daniels signed with the San Francisco 49ers as an undrafted free agent in 2020. He played four games for the 49ers in 2020 with four tackles (2 solo, 2 assists). After the 49ers, Daniels signed with the Atlanta Falcons in 2022. He played three preseason games with one tackle against the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Collegiately, Daniels played three seasons at Oklahoma State (2016-18) with 48 tackles (30 solo, 18 assists), seven tackles for loss, 1.5 sacks, three pass breakups, and one blocked punt in 27 games for the Cowboys. He won the Vernon Grant Award (Outstanding Leadership, Spirit, and Enthusiasm) in 2017.

Then, Daniels transferred to Nebraska in 2019 with 34 tackles (19 solo, 15 assists), four tackles for loss, 1.5 sacks, and one interception in 12 games, of which 11 were starts for the Cornhuskers. He was an All-Big 10 Honorable Mention in 2019.

Bryan Mills is six foot one and weighs 174 pounds. The 24-year-old from Palmdale, California, made nine tackles (6 solo, 3 assists), one fumble recovery, and one pass breakup in four games for the Stallions in 2023. In the playoffs, Mills made eight tackles (5 solo, 3 assists) and one pass breakup in two games helping the Stallions win its second USFL Championship in 2023.

The Stallions drafted Mills in the tenth round (83rd pick) of the 2022 USFL Draft. Mills made one tackle (1 assist) in seven games for the Stallions in 2022. He did not play in the postseason in 2022 when the Stallions beat the Philadelphia Stars to win its first USFL Championship.

Before Birmingham, Mills signed with the Seattle Seahawks as an undrafted free agent in 2021. He would later spend time with the New Orleans Saints, Cleveland Browns, and Minnesota Vikings.

Collegiately, Mills played one season at Antelope Valley College in 2017 with 26 tackles (15 solo, 11 assists), two interceptions for one yard, and eight pass breakups in nine games for the Marauders. He was named to the All-Southern California Football Association.

Next, Mills transferred to the College of the Canyons in 2018 with 12 tackles (9 solo, 3 assist), 1.5 tackles for loss, and one pass breakup in eight games for the Cougars. Then, Mills transferred to North Carolina Central in 2019 with 22 tackles (17 solo, 5 assists), half a tackle for loss, half a sack, five interceptions for 61 yards, and 13 pass breakups in 12 games for the Eagles.
