The Edmonton Elks signed wide receivers Danny Davis III and Jerminic Smith on Wednesday.

Danny Davis III is six foot and weighs 194 pounds. The 25-year-old from Springfield, Ohio, signed with the Green Bay Packers as an undrafted free agent in 2022. He played one preseason game against the San Francisco 49ers with two catches for 45 yards and one touchdown.

Collegiately, Davis III played five seasons at Wisconsin (2017-21) with 131 catches for 1,642 yards, 14 touchdowns, 25 carries for 245 yards, and two touchdowns in 51 games, of which 27 were starts for the Badgers. He was an Academic All-Big 10 in 2021.

Jerminic Smith is six foot one and weighs 184 pounds. The 28-year-old from Garland, Texas, made 80 catches for 923 yards, 14 touchdowns, three carries for seven yards, one touchdown, and eight kickoffs for 107 yards in 17 games for the Frisco Fighters (IFL) in 2023.

In 2022, Smith made 59 catches for 839 yards, 19 touchdowns, eight carries for 24 yards, and three kick returns for 39 yards in 13 games for the Frisco Fighters (IFL). Before Frisco, Smith played three games for the Ottawa Redblacks in 2019 with eight catches for 87 yards.

Collegiately, Smith played two seasons at Iowa (2015-16) with 29 catches for 455 yards, two touchdowns, and three carries for 63 yards in 27 games for the Hawkeyes. Then, he transferred to Southwest Baptist University in 2017 with 47 catches for 580 yards, five touchdowns, 11 carries for 23 yards, one touchdown, and four punt returns for 45 yards in ten games for the Bearcats.
