The Houston Gamblers signed defensive back Tyler Coyle for the 2024 season on Friday.
Tyler Coyle is six foot one and weighs 209 pounds. The 25-year-old from Windsor, Connecticut, made nine tackles (6 solo, 3 assists) in three preseason games for the Dallas Cowboys in 2023. The Cowboys signed Coyle as an undrafted free agent in 2021. He’s played three regular-season games in two seasons for the Cowboys with eight tackles (5 solo, 3 assists).
Collegiately, Coyle played three seasons at Connecticut (2017-19) with 260 tackles (161 solo, 99 assists), 7.5 tackles for loss, three interceptions for 86 yards, two touchdowns, 18 pass breakups, two forced fumbles, and two fumble recoveries in 35 games for the Huskies.
Then, Coyle transferred to Purdue in 2020 with 13 tackles (10 solo, 3 assists) and one pass breakup in four games for the Boilermakers.
