Reading Royals shutout by Trois-Rivières

The Royals were shut out by the Lions 1-0 on Friday night.

The Reading Royals (5-12-1-1) returned to the Santander Arena on Friday night to start a two-game series against the Trois-Rivières Lions (13-8).

In the first period, the Royals had 12 shots on goal but the game was scoreless 0-0. At 14:05 of the second period, Trios-Rivières’s John Parker-Jones put the Lions up 1-0 with an assist by Jakov Novak. The Royals had six shots on goal but trailed 1-0.

In the third period, the Royals had seven shots on goal but were shut out by the Lions 1-0. Reading had 25 shots on goal, committed four penalties for eight minutes, went 0 for 4 on the power play, and Parker Gahagen made 39 saves off 40 shots.
