The Saskatchewan Roughriders re-signed defensive lineman Miles Brown and defensive back Amari Henderson to one-year contract extensions through the 2024 season on Friday.
Miles Brown is six foot two and weighs 320 pounds. The 26-year-old from Cheverly, Maryland, made 22 tackles and four sacks in 12 games for the Roughriders in 2023. The Roughriders signed Brown as a free agent on February 25, 2022. In 2022, Brown made 21 tackles and two sacks in 13 games.
Before Saskatchewan, Brown signed with the Arizona Cardinals as an undrafted free agent in 2019. He played nine games for the Cardinals in 2019 with four tackles (2 solo, 2 assists). Later, Brown would spend time with the Tennessee Titans and Detroit Lions.
Collegiately, Brown played four seasons at Wofford (2015-18) with 174 tackles (92 solo, 82 assists), 38 tackles for loss, 13.5 sacks, two pass breakups, and two forced fumbles in 50 games for the Terriers. He was named First Team All-Southern Conference by the media and coaches in 2018.
Amari Henderson is six foot one and weighs 182 pounds. The 26-year-old from Charlotte, North Carolina, made 45 tackles, one tackle on special teams, and two interceptions in 18 games for the Roughriders in 2023. The Roughriders signed Henderson as a free agent on January 20, 2022. In 2022, Henderson made 31 tackles in 11 games.
Before Saskatchewan, Henderson signed with the Jacksonville Jaguars as an undrafted free agent in 2020. He would also spend time with the Minnesota Vikings.
Collegiately, Henderson played five seasons at Wake Forrest (2015-19) with 169 tackles (130 solo, 39 assists), four tackles for loss, seven interceptions, 48 pass blocks, and two fumble recoveries in 46 games for the Demon Deacons.
