A.J. Foyt Racing announced on Friday that Sting Ray Robb will drive the No. 41 Chevrolet for the 2024 season. This will be Robb’s second season in IndyCar.
“I’m truly honored to pilot the No. 41 AJ Foyt Racing Chevrolet for the ‘24 season,” said Robb. “This is a dream come true to be driving for the legendary A.J. Foyt and his team under the leadership of Larry Foyt. It provides an opportunity for me to implement past lessons and carry the momentum forward in my sophomore season as we enter a very competitive field of teams and drivers. Building together upon our successes, I am excited for the season ahead.”
The 22-year-old from Boise, Idaho, finished 23rd in the NTT IndyCar Series points standings with his highest finish in 12th place at WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca for Dale Coyne Racing.
In 2022, Robb finished second in the Indy Lights Series with two poles, one win, 11 top-five, and 13 top-ten finishes in 14 races for Andretti Autosport. In 2021, Robb raced for Juncos Racing in the Indy Lights Series.
“I’m looking forward to working with Sting Ray. I have to admit his name caught my eye when he was in the junior formulas, so I watched his rise through IndyCar’s ladder system where he did really well,” said AJ Foyt Racing Team President Larry Foyt. “I believe he is a great addition to our program and will showcase everything he learned in his rookie campaign in the NTT IndyCar Series.”
In 2020, Robb raced for Juncos Racing on his way to winning the Indy Pro 2000 Championship. He won three poles, seven wins, and 11 podium finishes in 17 races. He finished his Indy Pro career with five poles, seven wins, and 17 podium finishes in 33 races.
In addition to open-wheel racing, Robb competed in one race in the NASCAR K&N Pro Series West at Meridian Speedway in 2018 with a tenth-place finish.
The 2024 NTT IndyCar Series season starts on Sunday, March 10th, on NBC.
