The Reading Royals signed goaltender Tyler Roy to a standard player contract (SPC) on Wednesday.
Tyler Roy is six foot two and weighs 174 pounds. The 25-year-old from Brighton, Michigan, has played for the Columbus River Dragons (FPHL) with a 2-0 record, a 1.50 GAA, and a .951 SV% in five games, and the Roanoke Rail Yard Dawgs (SPHL) with a 2-1 record, a 2.69 GAA, and a .915 SV% this season in three games. In addition, Roy was also loaned to the Macon Mayhem (SPHL) and the Fayetteville Marksmen (SPHL).
Roy made his professional debut with the Roanoke Rail Yard Dawgs (SPHL) during the 2022-23 season with a 1-0 record, a 3.89 GAA, and a .828 SV%.
Collegiately, Roy played two seasons at Neumann University (2019-20) and two seasons at Manhattanville College (2021-22) with a combined record of 11-16-2, a 3.64 GAA, and a .894 SV% in 34 games. Roy also played three years of junior hockey in the USPHL Elite, USPHL Premier, the EHL, and the NA3HL.
