The Reading Royals (9-12-1-1) returned to the Norfolk Scope to continue their three-game series on Friday night against the Norfolk Admirals (14-8-2-1).
At 17:34 of the first period, Norfolk’s Carson Golder put the Admirals up 1-0 with assists from Mathieu Roy and Denis Smirnov. The Royals had ten shots on goal but trailed 1-0 after one period of play.
At 6:27 of the second period, Reading’s Adam Brubacher scored for the Royals which tied the game 1-1 with assists from Matt Brown and Joseph Nardi. Then at 15:30, Reading’s Devon Paliani put the Royals up 2-1 with assists by Tag Bertuzzi and Ryan Chyzowski.
A minute and fifty-nine seconds later, Reading’s Matt Brown extended the Royals lead to 3-1 with assists by Joseph Nardi and Nolan Maier. The Royals had ten shots on goal and led 3-1 after two periods of play.
At 10:52 of the third period, Reading’s Joseph Nardi put the game away which made it 4-1 with assists by Darren Brady and Brendan Hoffmann. The Royals had four shots on goal and the Royals defeated the Admirals by the final score of 4-1.
