The Winnipeg Blue Bombers and defensive tackle Cam Lawson agreed to a two-year contract extension through the 2025 season on Friday.

Cam Lawson is six foot three and weighs 281 pounds. The 25-year-old from Caledon, Ontario, made eight tackles, five sacks, and one interception in 15 games for the Blue Bombers in 2023 helping them reach the Grey Cup for the fourth year in a row.

The Blue Bombers acquired Lawson in a trade with the Montreal Alouettes on May 3, 2022, for a ninth and 18th overall selection in the 2022 CFL Draft. In 2022, Lawson made 12 tackles and one sack in 18 games. The Alouettes drafted Lawson in the second round (16th pick) of the 2021 CFL Draft.

Collegiately, Lawson played four seasons at Queen’s University (2016-19) with 74 tackles (63 solo, 22 assists), 19.5 tackles for loss, 11 sacks, and three fumble recoveries in 32 games for the Gaels. He was a two-time Second Team OUA All-Star (2017-18).
